I’m watching lives both young and old
It nothing new I’m sure you’re told
To see the similarities at play
For babes in arms and and heads so gray
One has yet to gain control
The other’s losing theirs below
They both seem apt to sleep a lot
The old folks and the tiny tots
Some have few teeth yet to keep
While others teethe while losing sleep
The young discover each day new
The old forget what they once knew
We love them both as best we can
The little boy the elder man
The princess and the dowager
The wilted rose and blooming flower
