Talking past each other
It seems our minds have all been set
So talking past is what we get
Each hears with filters firmly placed
To see the wrong in others face
The good for one seems not at all
While others positively stall
Upon a turn of phrase that grates
Like what the listener really hates
It maters more what side your on
So much the others’ always wrong
And if he or she should make some sense
You think it only a pretense
Could we just for a little while
Believe the other has not guile
That all are seeking greater good
And all have been misunderstood
Perhaps expecting positive
Might break the ruling negative
And help us all at once to see
There might be hope of unity
