November 23 Acts 13:47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
“‘I have made you a light for the Gentiles,
that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.’
A missionary is defined as someone who shares the Gospel in a culture other than his own. I say humorously that I qualify as a Yankee in Louisiana. However, I did make one missionary trip in 1995 to the Philippines.
I traveled there from North Carolina by myself to meet up with The Rev. Philip Weeks and two laymen for a month of ministry around several islands. We broke into teams of two. My partner Frank and I spent three of the days with a local pastor and his family. On one of those days we shared a baptism, a wedding, and a funeral. I laughed to this l said we covered Hatch, Match, and Dispatch.
We also spend three of the days leading worship and offering prayers for healing. The Lord worked wonders such that more people attended each night. Moreover, people lined up for prayer our last morning hoping for a blessing. One woman was visibly happy to be able to see better!
The Lord’s call to share the Gospel continues around the world. There is even a move of revival sparking across the United States today!
What can you do to be a missionary today!
