December 9 Galatians 3:26-28
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
This week I was able to visit a group of Christians in a faith based barracks in prison. During an informal time a small group gathered to ask me questions. A common concern was the issue of divisions in the church. For example, why are there so many different denominations? Why do Catholics pray to saints? Are those extra books holy?
One of the things I like about Kairos prison ministry is that we agree not to debate those things upon which we disagree. We just stick to the basics. We don’t worry about how much water for baptism or what communion really signifies.
