February 16 Revelation 12:10

February 16 Revelation 12:10

And I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying, “Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come, for the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down, who accuses them day and night before our God.”

This verse marks a significant turning point in the cosmic conflict depicted in Revelation. It celebrates the victory of Christ over Satan, the “accuser,” who continuously brought charges against God’s people. With Satan’s defeat and expulsion from heaven, the arrival of God’s kingdom is proclaimed, emphasizing that Christ’s authority now reigns supreme.

Theologically, this verse highlights several key themes:

•Victory through Christ:

The salvation and power of God are fully realized through Christ’s redemptive work.

•End of Accusation:

Satan’s role as the accuser is brought to an end, symbolizing the justification and vindication of believers.

•Inauguration of God’s Kingdom:

The kingdom of God is not just a future reality but is actively present through Christ’s authority.

•Encouragement to Believers:

For the early church facing persecution, this declaration served as hope and assurance that their suffering was not in vain and that ultimate victory belonged to Christ.

This verse is often interpreted as part of the broader narrative of spiritual warfare, where Christ’s death, resurrection, and ascension have secured the ultimate triumph over evil, even though the full consummation of that victory awaits the final judgment.

I recently published a booklet on Amazon about Spiritual Warefare.

It is encouraging to know Jesus win!

What has been your experience of the forces of evil and how has faith in Jesus brought you through?
