A Little Advice
Showing up they say is half of what it takes
You’ll never be a huge success or even mistakes make
If you’re not there, not here, nor anywhere in sight
It matters not how smart you are nor if you’re wrong or right
The second part of life it seems is knowing how to wait
When shopping or at doctors or anticipating dates
The world is not on time for you no matter how you plan
So best you learn to take your turn and like it if you can
They say the way to peace of mind is learning how to know
What things are here within your pow’r and what you must let go
The ones you might have strength to change are all inside your head
The rest at best you must release don’t hold let go instead
Now just because I write these lines don’t think I really know
I have no magic system, no fool proof plan to show
Just try to be as positive as I can be each day
And understand that others find their lives to be this way
There is one thing I use to cope you might give it a try
A sense of humor helps a lot and laughter by and by
Can turn your frown into a smile and cheer you as you wait
And when you show up as you must be welcomed at the gate
