April 5 Proverbs 21:21
“Whoever pursues righteousness and kindness will find life, righteousness, and honor.”
Comment:
This proverb presents a divine paradox: the more we pursue righteousness and kindness—not for personal gain but out of love and reverence for God—the more we receive life, righteousness, and honor as byproducts. It echoes the teaching of Jesus in Matthew 6:33: “Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” The verse reminds us that godly character has lasting rewards, not only in spiritual terms but also in the respect and honor it earns from others.
Decimal (Spiritual Insight):
21.21 – This repetition (21:21) hints at balance and alignment. Just as two paths can meet in a crossroads, this verse points us to the convergence of pursuit and reward. Righteousness pursued becomes righteousness received; kindness given becomes life and honor returned. It’s a spiritual symmetry.
Question for Reflection:
What would it look like today for me to actively pursue righteousness and kindness—not just believe in them, but chase them with intention?
