Once upon a summer’s dream

Once upon a summers dream

.

Once upon a summer’s dream
I watched a butterfly
It’s wings were bright and beautiful
A delight before my eyes
When suddenly it crashed and burned
I came to realize
That butterflies in dreams surprise
With meaning that describes
The fragile state of beauty
That wings with in and out
The fire of life that singes
Before we even shout
The passion of our virtues
Growing older by the day
The shortness of our life here
Before we pass away
So flap your wings with beauty
Each day that grace provides
And drink deeply the nectar
Of all flowers that you spy
Then share the wonder of your flight
With each who passes by
Till time for you has ended
And you fall beneath the sky
