While working on my dissertation I found a very interesting study on type and Conflict.
I decided to plot these results in a graphic using the Map of Dichotomies.
The interconnected block is for Collaborating. The flag is for accommodating. The rabbit is for Avoiding. The two arrows are for Compromising. The above chart show the first choice for each type. The next shows the second choice and so on.
It may not seem obvious at first but each strategy has its place. As an ENFJ I definitely like to collaborate. However, there are situations when avoiding is the preferred method. When attacked an outnumbered retreat would seem the best. At times Compromise is the only way. We hope our politicians can do this well. If you are a boxer competing is the best.
