Cultural Appropriation

This is a poem about Cultural Appropriation. It seems to me a silly complaint. I hope you enjoy the poem

Of all the wok concerns of late
I understand not misappropriate
Okay let’s lose the racist names
For teams or mascots of the same

Holy things should not be used
Regardless of faith do not abuse
But when all of us are intertwined
There’s many a custom to combine

The things we wear should be alright
Why should we hide them out of sight
When the world has grown so very small
Culture has melded one and all

No complaint for Asian Blue Jeans
HOGs go riding across the nations
Japanese baseball is fine with me
Hockey is played in Tennessee

I love my turquoise jewelry
As do the Navahos who sold to me
If you want to pierce your nose
I’ll not complain even when it glows

When your earlobes stretch far down
Will tribes in Africa think you a clown
It’s still a country proud to be free
So wear your dreadlocks for all to see

Now Please do not cancel me
For supposed insensitivity
Some things sometimes I want to say
I hope you too will find a way
