Holiday reflections
Life passages move us on
Sunrise to set we greet the dawn
Sunset to rise the days are gone
And ours it is to think upon
The ways our days are spent with care
For passages will bring us there
Before we even know or dare
Old age will creep up unaware
At holidays we see time fly
And mark the years and wonder why
Our fortunes brought us here to lie
Under some unknown foreign sky
But meanwhile babies sleep away
And younger mothers watch and sway
Not knowing now there’ll soon come a day
When this one’s off to school and play
And in between we live and love
We learn and lose we look above
We stand beside we push and shove
We see the moon and hear the dove
And so it goes for you an me
For mom and dad the family tree
The grands whom we all love to see
And those who’ve gone eternally
