Love for Hats

This is a poem about my Love for Hats. I hope you enjoy! Some of these are my earliest memories. Some like the one above I wish I had today.

I’ve always had a love for hats
And many have upon me sat
To decorate my head and say
I’m looking grand outside today

The first remembrance I recall
When turning three I had a ball
With six guns on my hips I played
A cowboy hat my eyes did shade

In school I kept my head from cold
With woolen Tam O’ Shanter bold
Complete with tassel on the top
I wore it with a sidewise flop

My college room mate gifted me
From Eddie Bower company
An Aussie cap with one side high
A dashing figure sure was I

When in New Hampshire for a while
My brother gave the perfect style
A winter cap of rabbits hide
With fur flaps on the front and sides

Out west down in Durango town
A hatter well known and renowned
Made me a hat fit to my skull
In this chapeaux I’m never dull

More recently I found a prize
A Bowler that is just my size
With perfect feather in the band
I look to be a dashing man

And in between I’ve hats that say
I’ve been there, done that and did stay
To visit this place or declare
A message I would like to share

Give blood, play ball, buy this or that
Just see the logo on my hat
My group is great I mean to say
If only for this very day

So yes of hats I’m very keen
There’s one for every day and scene
There’s one for every mood and style
Yes hats can always make me smile
