November 11 Isaiah 61:10
I delight greatly in the Lord;
my soul rejoices in my God.
For he has clothed me with garments of salvation
and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness,
as a bridegroom adorns his head like a priest,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels
I am a great fan of the Cursillo method of Christian renewal and all it’s various spin offs: Happening, Tres Dias, Walk to Emmaeus, and especially Kairos prison ministry. If there had ever been a job that paid me to do one every month or even every week I would have taken it on a heart beat!
The reason is each one provides multiple experiences to delight in the Lord. There is so much prayer and agape love poured out before during and after these events. The result is a palpable presence of the Holy Spirit. God incidences break out regularly and routinely.
Moreover, you can witness lives transformed in three short days (actually very long days). The joy of the Lord permeates the participants. Participants literally look different by the end of the weekend. Not surprisingly the team is transformed as well.
This sounds like a sales pitch. Perhaps it is. On the other hand I hope that you have had similar experiences of the Lord’s presence in worship. Perhaps it was at an Easter or Christmas celebration. Maybe at a wedding or even a funeral. Perhaps even during a private time of prayer.
Remember those times and be thankful.
