November 8 Acts 2:21 Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
As I write it has been several months since Oliver Anthony burst upon the world stage with his song Rich Men North of Richmond. Beyond that song which touched the hearts of millions of people was his testiomony.
By his own account he was in a dark place at the end of his rope when he reached out to God. In that moment the Lord reached out to him and he was saved. We can’t imagine a more dramatic turn of events. He went from the pit of depression to the heights of fame. So far he has maintained his humility and faith. After a year of touring and making a fortune he has purposely scaled down to focus on ministry.
Most of us will not experience that much of a reversal. However, our salvation events are as important to us and those we love. In my experience overnight I went from a confirmed and depressed atheist to pursuing ordination.
I suspect that those who read this will either be thankful for calling upon the Lord or considering the possibility of doing so. To the one I say rejoice in the memories; to the other I say fear not and call out! He has been waiting for you. He loves you! It will get better from that moment.
Recall the events surrounding you salvation.
Share it with someone in need of encouragement.
