Our Amazing Body
The body is an amazing creation
It has a capacity for restoration
The surgeons do their skillful best
But once that’s done body does the rest
Reconnecting skin and bone
Growing by itself alone
Sure we need to exercise
But when stronger it’s a surprise
Cells divide and grow
We only pretend to know
Life is a miracle inspiring awe
From a beating heart or clinging claw
So ponder this when cutting nails
Or shaving beard or nursing ails
Or just with breathing sigh out loud
And say a thank you prayer and bow
