Most of us want to leave a mark
Or maybe a statue in the park
Yes we would like it to be said
Even after we’ve been dead
He did or was as we all know
She was always on the go
He was an exemplary fellow
She played exquisite cello
He was friend to all he met
She was among the smartest yet
He was an entrepreneur first rate
She won the prize it was great
Raise children who then go far
Invent something better for the car
Walk on the moon or dive in the sea
Save lives in medicine or on TV
Maybe we contribute every day
Maybe one special event has it’s sway
Maybe our words are common place
Maybe our death has a special grace
